 Update on Missions

"For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Luke 19:10

The above verse tells of the purpose for which Jesus came into the world, “... to seek and to save that which was lost.”  This is the great purpose for which God the Father sent God the Son into the world, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).  Each year one of the primary  focuses of our VBS Program is to win souls.  All the other aspects of our program are very important and profitable, but winning souls is one of our primary goals (Proverbs 11:30). The Lord has certainly blessed over these past years.  Since our VBS Program began in 2003, we have been privileged to witness 157 decisions for Christ (This figure does not include 2003, for which there were no statistics recorded).  In the words of Fanny Crosby, “To God be the glory, great things He has done."

Our VBS Week is one of several excellent programs that we have for young people.  Much hard work and sacrifice of personal time and resources goes into this special week.  Indeed, to God be the glory for the dedicated workers that serve each year so faithfully.

It is such a privilege and a blessing that the Lord has bestowed on our church in the children that He has allowed us to minister to. We continue to praise Him for the opportunity to reach the youth of Northern Connecticut and Massachusetts. Every year our VBS program brings in new children to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Along with that we also have the opportunity to share Christ with the parents and grandparents of these children. This ministry is a great outreach.

This year’s theme was “Over the Moat, Drawbridge to the King!” The lessons focused on the life of David, and that God is indeed King and worthy to be praised. We were also able to focus on the fact that only God can see the heart and know who we truly are. (I Samuel 16:7) This year we opted for a major change to our schedule, our closing program was held on Friday evening instead of Saturday afternoon. Praise God for the four young people and one adult who accepted Christ this year! We are also praising God for the new contacts made and our continued ministry to them, as many young people are attending our Master Club Program. Thank you for your continued hard work and dedication! (II Timothy 2:1-4)

Here are this year’s statistics:
* 5 decisions for salvation
* 75 students averaged each day
* 38 workers averaged each day
* 22 new registrations
* 37 riders on our bus and van each day

Thank you for your faithful service, devotion, and dedication to our VBS program. A special "Thank you" to the parents for sending your children!

We are already looking forward to our 2018 VBS Program. Dates for this event will be coming soon. Keep a look out for more upcoming information on this exciting event!
